Yamaha Four Stroke 6HP outboard engine is an ultra-quiet, portable power unit that functions as a four-stroke, independently lubricated gasoline engine. It is primarily suited for small boats (such as rubber boats, small wooden boats, and inflatable fishing boats) because it delivers smooth and stable thrust from idle to low-to-medium speeds, exhibiting excellent handling smoothness and fuel economy in low-speed cruising, precise berthing, and shallow-water fishing conditions. Its quiet operation and environmental friendliness stem from its overall design, employing a single-cylinder overhead valve (OHV) or side-valve (SV) layout, forced air cooling or water cooling circulation, and a fully enclosed muffler system. Typical displacement ranges from 118 cc to 139 cc, with a bore and stroke of approximately 59 mm × 45 mm, a maximum output of 4.4 kW (6 HP) @ 4500–5000 rpm, and peak torque typically occurring between 3500 and 4000 rpm. The compression ratio of this engine is set between 8.0:1 and 9.0:1. It also exhibits excellent adaptability to pure unleaded gasoline (without premixed oil). Thanks to its independent lubrication system and oil sump, it can operate stably for extended periods in both fresh and seawater environments with minimal exhaust fumes. This makes it ideal for low-noise, low-emission applications such as small lake fishing, reservoir patrolling, short-distance inland waterway transport, and recreational activities using inflatable boats.
